Jika dia mencintai sesama manusia semata-mata kerana Allah dan jika ia enggan kembali kepada kekufuran setelah diselamatkan Allah daripadanya, sebagaimana ia enggan dimasukkan ke dalam neraka” – Mutafakun alaih.
Kepentingan cinta kepada diri sendiri mendorong seseorang untuk menjaga dan menghargai diri sendiri, mengambil berat terhadap kesihatan dan mengambil berat terhadap kesejahteraan fizikal dan mental.
Cinta jasmani mendorong seseorang sentiasa menjaga diri, menjaga kebersihan, mengambil pemakanan secara seimbang, mengambil berat terhadap keperluan pemakanan halal dan baik, merawat ketika sakit dan sentiasa berikhtiar untuk mencari ubat apabila menghidap penyakit.
Cinta diri bermakna mengambil berat terhadap keperluan untuk memajukan diri, menyedari terhadap potensi diri yang dimiliki, sentiasa berusaha untuk menimba ilmu pengetahuan untuk kejayaan dan kecemerlangan diri.
Orang cinta diri sentiasa berusaha untuk meneroka dan mencari kebaikan untuk diri, mencari perkara yang berfaedah yang boleh mendatangkan manfaat masa depan.
Sentiasa mengambil berat dan benci terhadap apa jua perkara yang boleh menghalang diri untuk berjaya.
Menyemarakkan rasa cinta dalam kehidupan harian bererti kita sentiasa mengambil berat dan mewujudkan rasa hidup harmoni dan kasih sayang sesama insan.
Hidup bekerjasama dan tolong menolong merupakan cara terbaik untuk kita membuktikan cinta sesama insan. Firman Allah: “Kamu tidak sekali-kali akan dapat mencapai kebajikan sebelum kamu dermakan sebahagian dari apa yang kamu sayangi. Dan apa jua yang kamu dermakan maka sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mengetahui” – surah al-Imran :92.
Dalam satu hadis Rasulullah menegaskan: “Apabila seseorang muslim berjumpa sesama muslim dalam kesusahan lalu menolongnya dengan sempurna, maka seluruh dosa mereka gugur seperti daun-daun berguguran daripada pohon yang ditiup angin. Maknanya seluruh dosa mereka terhapus walau sebanyak buih di lautan” – hadis riwayat al-Tabrani.
Kerana itu, kita ditegah daripada bersifat sombong. Rasulullah mengingatkan bahawa: “Di hari akhirat kelak, nilai orang yang menyombong diri di sisi Allah tidak sampai nilainya seperti kepak seekor nyamuk” – Hadis riwayat Bukhari.
Nilai cinta yang paling tinggi adalah kecintaan kepada Allah dan Rasul. Untuk mencapai ke puncak cinta berkenaan tidak ada cara lain melain dengan cara meningkatkan ibadah kita seperti sembahyang, puasa, berzakat dan zikir serta berdoa.
Firman Allah: “Katakanlah (Wahai Muhammad): ‘Jika benar kamu mengasihi Allah maka ikutilah Daku, nescaya Allah mengasihi kamu serta mengampunkan dosa-dosa kamu. Dan (ingatlah), Allah amat pengampun, lagi maha Mengasihani” – surah al-Imran :31
